Recently my friend Jessica mentioned that she was looking for a craft she could use for her daughter's preschool class. They were doing Thanksgiving crafts and she needed ideas. I was so excited because I had just the perfect craft to share--popcicle stick turkeys!! My friend Audrey works in the kitchen at a local nursing home and knows how much I like to come up with random crafts. She has been saving me those little brown popcicle sticks (the ones that come with the little plastic cups of ice cream) for the past year, and I have been coming up with various ways to use them. I have found they make great hotdogs (stacked up), picture frames, ornaments, necklace pendants, and my favorite discovery--they make fabulous turkeys. So when Jessica mentioned that she needed a Thanksgiving craft, I couldn't wait to share my little turkeys with her and Miss Campbell. They were decorated with feathers and pompoms and I think they turned out fabulous. If you are interested in making these cute little birds, send me an email at [email protected] and I will email you the instructions. I think they would also make really cute little peacocks.
