*PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL NEED TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN TOOLS.*
The three most important tools you will need when designing jewelry are: chain-nose pliers, round-nose pliers and cutters (nippers).
(All three can be bought in a multi-pack for around $10-12 at craft stores including Hobby Lobby, Michael's, Walmart, and JoAnn's Fabrics).
Chain-nose pliers have two main purposes: holding wire and bending wire. They are the most versatile and (in my opinion) the most useful tool you can have.
Round-nose pliers are used to bend wire. We rely on the round shape of the barrel to help us make nice uniform round designs in our wire.
Cutters (also called nippers) are used to cut wire.
**Please note** Only memory-wire cutters should be used to cut memory wire--they will dull all other wire cutters.
- PRIVATE JEWELRY DESIGN LESSONS
I encourage students to save magazines, catalogs and pictures of jewelry pieces they like for project inspiration.
**Please note: I will never intentionally copy another designer's work.
Pictures are a great way for me to see what you are thinking.**
Lesson time varies by project and prices start at $20 per lesson.
Depending on project, beads and tools can be included in (elevated) lesson price.
If you have questions, want recommendations on what tools or supplies to buy, or just want to chat about your projects, please feel free to send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I love helping my students learn more about the art of jewelry making and look forward to hearing from you!
